Toronto Tragedy: Rising Rap Star Gunned Down in Scarborough, Police Reveal Identity

Toronto police have identified the man who tragically lost his life in a shooting incident at a Scarborough apartment complex on Monday night.

Law enforcement responded to the Kingston and Galloway roads area following reports of the shooting at approximately 10:21 p.m.

The victim, Shakur Clarke-Johnson Sargeant, a 23-year-old resident of Toronto, was declared deceased at the scene.

According to Toronto police Det.-Sgt. Phil Campbell, the victim was known for his rap persona in the city, although further details were not disclosed.

Currently, one suspect is in custody while another remains at large.

The apprehended suspect, an adult, was captured at the same complex where the shooting occurred, as detailed by Campbell.

Facing a charge of first-degree murder, the suspect’s arrest indicates the serious nature of the crime.

Campbell highlighted that the shooting appeared to involve significant planning and deliberation, though specific motives have not been revealed.
