A Montreal man has been arrested by Toronto police for allegedly breaking into a residence and sexually assaulting a woman years after the incident took place.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, November 6, 2022, in the Ossington Avenue and College Street area when officers responded to a reported break-in.
According to investigators, the female victim was asleep in her bed when the suspect unlawfully entered her home and committed the assault.
On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, authorities apprehended Jose Galvez Espinoza, 40, from Montreal, in connection with the case.
Espinoza is now facing charges of break and enter and sexual assault, although the allegations against him have yet to be proven in court.
