Bryan Adams, the iconic Canadian musician, is set to rock the holiday season with a special one-hour show on Citytv and a new album on the horizon.
Titled “Bryan Adams and Friends: A Great Big Holiday Jam,” the festive special will showcase Adams performing beloved holiday tunes alongside fellow Canadian artists such as Alessia Cara, Alan Doyle, Barenaked Ladies, Lights, and The Sheepdogs.
Filmed over two days at his Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, the special captures the raw energy of the musicians jamming together in a collaborative setting. Adams will unveil a new song during the show, with plans to release a full album featuring fresh renditions of his classic holiday hits like “Christmas Time” from 1984.
Describing the special as a Christmas version of The Band’s legendary 1978 documentary “The Last Waltz,” Adams emphasizes the organic and unscripted nature of the performance, offering viewers a glimpse into the creative process of making music.
In contrast to polished holiday specials, Adams promises a more spontaneous and authentic experience, joking that his show is “pretty rough” and “quite unchoreographed.” He shares that the special features unique improvisations on holiday classics like “12 Days of Christmas” and “Three Ships.”
When asked about his Christmas wish, Adams expresses a heartfelt desire for peace in Palestine, reflecting his commitment to global harmony.
