Police Hunt for Suspect in Random, Violent Stabbing in Weston

Authorities are on the lookout for a man believed to have stabbed another individual without provocation in the Weston neighborhood of Toronto.

Toronto police responded to a distress call at Weston Road and King Street, just north of Lawrence Avenue, around noon on Wednesday.

According to reports, the male victim was working at the back of a building when an unidentified male assailant approached him from behind.

The attacker allegedly stabbed the victim with no apparent motive before quickly fleeing the scene.

The injured victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening wounds.

Described as a male with a medium-stocky frame and sporting a beard, the suspect was last seen wearing a black balaclava, a black hoodie featuring a white Nike emblem, black track pants with light-colored panels on the lower legs, and black running shoes.

Authorities have released images of the suspect to aid in the search.
