Two individuals on a motorcycle tragically lost their lives in a collision involving a dump truck in Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs, located in the picturesque Laurentians region.
Authorities responded to the incident on Route 117 at approximately 12:15 p.m., as confirmed by Camille Savoie, the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Preliminary information suggests that the dump truck rear-ended the motorcycle, which was stationary at a red light. The exact reasons behind the crash are still being investigated.
Regrettably, the motorcycle operator was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The passenger, who was rushed to the hospital, also passed away due to her injuries.
Fortunately, the driver of the dump truck emerged unharmed from the accident.
Route 117 had to be temporarily shut down to facilitate a thorough examination of the scene for a comprehensive understanding of the incident.
