Authorities have made headway in a tragic incident as a 21-year-old man has been apprehended, while another individual remains at large following a deadly shooting in Scarborough.
The Toronto police swiftly responded to a distress call at the intersection of Kingston and Galloway roads at approximately 10:20 p.m. on September 15, regarding a shooting incident.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a young man who had sustained gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The perpetrator managed to escape the area before law enforcement arrived at the scene.
The deceased has been identified as Shakur Clarke-Sargeant, a 23-year-old resident of Toronto.
Jeavon Quashie, hailing from Toronto and aged 21, was taken into custody on September 16 and has been formally charged with first-degree murder.
Meanwhile, a second suspect remains at large. Described as a Black male in his early 20s, he was last seen donning dark attire.
