Breaking: Remains Identified as Travis Decker, Suspect in Tragic Slaying of His Three Daughters

Authorities in Washington State have located what they believe to be the remains of Travis Decker, a former soldier suspected in the deaths of his three young daughters. The discovery was made in the mountainous region near Leavenworth.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Washington State Patrol crime scene response team, is currently processing the site where the remains were found. While a positive identification is pending DNA analysis, initial indications point to the remains being those of Travis Decker.

Travis Decker, 32, had been on the run since June 2, when his truck and the bodies of his daughters, Paityn (9), Evelyn (8), and Olivia (5), were found at a campground outside Leavenworth. He had failed to return the girls to their mother after a scheduled visit.

A former infantryman in the Army, Decker had military training in various skills and had even lived off the grid for an extended period. His ex-wife had raised concerns about his deteriorating mental health in a court petition filed last year.

The girls’ cause of death was determined to be suffocation, with evidence of bindings and plastic bags over their heads. The extensive search efforts involved multiple state and federal agencies covering vast and rugged terrains.
