“Empowering Change: Montreal Art Exhibition Champions Women’s Causes, Fuels Fundraising Drive”

The Hadley Community recently hosted a heartwarming art exhibition named ‘The Art of Giving’, where 20 talented local artists came together to support Anne’s House, a non-profit providing housing assistance to women in need.

Sheila Woodhouse, the executive director of the organization, expressed the significance of the event marking the 10th anniversary of their women’s residence. The aim was to raise funds and awareness for women overcoming homelessness, trauma, addiction, and mental health challenges.

The idea for the exhibition came to fruition through the collaboration of Woodhouse and her friend Sharon Scott, both passionate about supporting the women they serve daily. Artists Tristan Tondino and Joséane Brunelle also joined in, eager to give back in their own creative ways.

Brunelle contributed a poignant portrait depicting women in Montreal streets, inspired by the non-profit’s mission. Meanwhile, Tondino donated a unique painting of a five dollar bill, with hopes of using it to raise funds for the cause.

The event, co-organized by Brunelle and Tondino, aimed to not only showcase artistic talent but also to make a meaningful impact in the community. With the rising homeless population in Quebec, particularly in Montreal, the need for support is more crucial than ever.

The success of the first edition of The Art of Giving was evident as numerous paintings found new homes with supportive buyers, all contributing towards the noble cause of Anne’s House.
