Authorities in York Region are on the lookout for a man following a disturbing incident in Vaughan where a vehicle was intentionally set ablaze and shot at.
According to investigators, in the early hours of September 17, a resident in the Forest Heights Boulevard and Highway 27 vicinity witnessed an individual setting fire to their vehicle.
Fortunately, the fire was promptly extinguished, and thankfully, there were no reported injuries from the incident.
Security footage captured the suspect arriving in a grey 2022 Honda Civic bearing the Ontario license plate DFEA247, carrying a bag containing a jerry can. The footage shows him pouring a flammable substance over the vehicle before igniting it. Subsequently, the man fired multiple shots in the direction of the resident’s vehicle before departing the scene.
Notably, the suspect’s vehicle had been stolen in Toronto and was linked to a shooting incident in Peel Region on the same night.
Described as around five-feet-10, the suspect was last seen sporting a black hooded sweatshirt, black jogging pants, black running shoes with white soles, and grey gloves.
Authorities urge anyone with information on the suspect or the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
