Toronto Police Release Names of Two Key Suspects in the Tragic Murder of JahVai Roy

Toronto police have been granted permission to publicly identify two young individuals wanted in connection with the tragic shooting death of an eight-year-old boy. Ibrahim Ibrahim, 17, and Amarii Lindner, 18 (although 17 at the time of the incident), are being sought for the first-degree murder of JahVai Roy. The young boy was fatally hit by a stray bullet while he was asleep in his bed at an apartment on 15 Martha Eaton Way early on August 16.

Despite the usual protection of young offenders’ identities under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the police have been authorized by the court to reveal the names of these teenagers until September 24 at 2 p.m.

In a related development, a 16-year-old was recently arrested by investigators in connection with the same shooting. This individual is now facing a first-degree murder charge along with five firearms-related charges.

Previously, the police had shared images of a white Acura believed to be linked to the incident.
