Canadian Police Arrest 16 Individuals Crossing Border Near Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have confirmed the detention of 16 individuals who were caught trying to enter Canada near Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle on Friday evening.
This group of 18 people was intercepted by authorities, with two individuals still evading capture according to the RCMP.
In a statement released on Saturday morning, the RCMP stated, “As the investigation is ongoing, we are refraining from further comments at this time.”
In a similar incident last August, RCMP intercepted a truck in the Eastern Townships near Stansted that was attempting to smuggle 44 migrants into Canada. The migrants were found crammed inside the truck without any ventilation.
