A man in critical condition after a quadricycle collided with another vehicle on Sunday afternoon in Montreal.
The dramatic incident unfolded at the intersection of de l’Église Ave. and De La Vérendrye Blvd. in the Sud-Ouest borough around 12:50 p.m.
The 79-year-old quadricycle driver sustained serious upper body injuries and was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state, raising concerns about his survival, according to Montreal police spokesperson Jeanne Drouin.
Preliminary reports indicate that both vehicles were heading north on de l’Église Ave. when the quadricycle crashed into the vehicle’s passenger side at the De La Vérendrye Blvd. junction, causing the quadricycle to flip over.
The 53-year-old driver of the vehicle cooperated with authorities during the investigation.
Authorities cordoned off the area for investigation purposes.
