Ontario NDP Leader Stiles Revamps Team in Bold Strategy Shift After Leadership Review

Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles announced a change in her top staff lineup following a leadership review where she received 68% support over the weekend.

Stiles revealed in a statement that her chief of staff Greg Denton and principal secretary Stephanie Nakitsas will be leaving their roles, with Jen Hassum from the Broadbent Institute stepping in as interim chief of staff.

While Stiles managed to secure enough support to continue leading the party, the backing wasn’t overwhelming, leading her to hint at upcoming changes as the NDP gears up for the 2029 provincial election.

Despite maintaining its status as the official Opposition, the NDP experienced a decrease in seat count and popular vote in the recent snap election.

Expressing gratitude for the commitment of Denton and Nakitsas during challenging times, Stiles emphasized her commitment to strengthening the party’s movement to ultimately challenge the current government.
