“RCMP Teams Up with CFIA in Dramatic Raid on Suspected B.C. Ostrich Farm”

Authorities Respond to Urgent Situation at Ostrich Farm with Hundreds of Birds in British Columbia

Canadian authorities have called upon the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to intervene at an ostrich farm located in British Columbia’s Interior, where a distressing situation has unfolded involving approximately 400 birds facing culling measures.

In a recent statement issued by the RCMP, it was revealed that their involvement is in support of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, which has been legally authorized to carry out necessary actions following the execution of a search warrant.

The farm’s spokeswoman, Katie Pasitney, has confirmed the presence of a convoy comprising police vehicles and waste disposal trucks outside the property in Edgewood, B.C. A live video shared on social media captures the convoy en route to the farm, showcasing the urgency of the situation.

Expressing concern for the birds, Pasitney urges supporters watching the video to join efforts in preventing the planned culling, referring to it as a “massacre” that should be halted.

The farm has been faced with challenges as some of the birds were found to be infected with avian flu, leading to an order for their destruction. Despite attempts by the farm’s owners to contest the culling order through legal avenues, these efforts have proven unsuccessful.
