Toronto police apprehend suspect using drone technology after break-in incident in Fairbank neighborhood. The arrest of a 44-year-old man was carried out following reports of trouble in the early morning hours of Sept. 15 near Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street.
According to authorities, the victim, a resident at the location, faced a frightening ordeal when the suspect forcibly entered her home, causing damage to her door. The victim managed to escape to a nearby establishment for safety after being threatened by the intruder.
Investigators deployed a drone to aid in the apprehension of the suspect. Despite attempting to evade capture by hiding in a backyard in the vicinity, the man was successfully located utilizing the thermal imaging capabilities of the drone.
The individual, identified as Randy Mills, 44, of Toronto, was taken into custody. He now faces charges related to the break-in incident and making death threats. Mills was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre.
