Convicted Sex Offender Randall Hopley Released in Vancouver
Convicted sex offender Randall Hopley has been released from custody and is currently residing in Vancouver, according to the city’s police department.
Hopley, now 60 years old, has been granted release based on a recalculated statutory release date required by law. Despite this, the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) has expressed serious concerns about the potential risk Hopley poses to the public and the likelihood of him violating his release conditions.
Among the strict conditions imposed on Hopley are a nightly curfew starting at 6 p.m. and a prohibition on contacting his victims or their families. Hopley’s past crimes include sexual assault and abduction of individuals under the age of 14.
Standing at 5’9″ and weighing around 175 pounds, Hopley has distinctive features including brown hair and hazel eyes. The VPD’s High Risk Offender Unit, in collaboration with Correctional Service Canada, will be closely monitoring Hopley’s activities.
Authorities urge the public to report any breaches of Hopley’s release conditions by contacting 911 immediately.
