Soccer enthusiasts in Quebec have something to cheer about as the Canadian Premier League (CPL) has announced its expansion to the province in 2026. The league revealed its plans to introduce a ninth team in the Greater Montreal Area.
The newest CPL addition will call Stade Boréale in Laval, Quebec its home ground, sharing the venue with the Northern Super League’s Montreal Roses FC. Not only will the stadium host matches, but it will also serve as the training base and administrative hub for the new CPL club.
Leading the way for this inaugural Quebec-based team are owners Matt Rizzetta, Angelo Pasto, Stéphane Tétrault, and Jean-François Chenail.
