Serial Burglar Strikes: 55-Year-Old Faces Seven Charges in Burnaby Crime Spree

A 55-year-old man in Burnaby faces charges for breaking into seven homes from September 2023 to June 2024. The Burnaby RCMP’s thorough investigation, culminating in the suspect’s arrest on August 27, led to further charges being laid, totaling 18 by the BC Prosecution Service. These charges include nine counts of possession of stolen goods and two counts of violating a release order.

Sgt. Aly Mohan of the Burnaby RCMP’s Strike Force Unit emphasized the emotional impact on victims of such break-ins, in addition to the loss of personal belongings. While some stolen items were returned to their owners, there are also support services available to help individuals cope with the fear and distress associated with such crimes.

In connection with the investigation, 34-year-old Burnaby resident Fabiola Diaz is also implicated, facing nine counts of possessing stolen property.
