A pedestrian, a 68-year-old woman, was struck by a Montreal public transit bus in Lachine on a Thursday afternoon. The incident took place around 4:15 p.m. near the intersection of Provost Street and 25th Avenue. Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture reported that authorities responded to a 911 call regarding the collision.
Initial findings indicate that the woman was trying to cross Provost Street between the 24th and 25th Avenue when the STM bus approached, resulting in the accident. Despite sustaining serious injuries, the woman remained conscious and was promptly taken to the hospital. Thankfully, medical professionals have stated that her life is not at risk.
The Montreal police’s collision squad is currently conducting an investigation to determine the specifics of the incident and provide clarity on the sequence of events.
