A tragic incident has claimed the life of a 32-year-old man from Stouffville, Ontario, while he was on a golf trip in Wisconsin. The family of Mike Robinson, who recently became a father to a six-week-old baby girl, is devastated by the loss and seeking answers.
Mike was enjoying a golf outing with his in-laws and had even scored a hole-in-one before heading to a bar to celebrate. On their way back to the hotel, they approached a food delivery driver for a ride and moments later, shots rang out.
Describing the harrowing event, Mike’s brother Jake Robinson shared, “All we know is there was an SUV that was involved and drove by and shot my brother. He died in my brother-in-law’s hands.” The fatal shooting took place in Sheboygan Falls, an hour north of Milwaukee along Lake Michigan.
Authorities from the Sheboygan Falls Police Department responded to the shooting shortly after midnight on Wednesday. Despite efforts to save him, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A preliminary investigation suggests that an unidentified individual driving a dark-colored SUV was responsible for the shooting, with the motive remaining unclear.
Jake and his family are making arrangements to bring Mike back home to Canada, emphasizing their desire for his legacy to reflect the incredible person he was and the love he shared with those around him.
Global Affairs Canada has been informed of the tragic loss of a Canadian citizen in Wisconsin. Consular officials are liaising with local authorities to gather more details and offering support to the family during this difficult time.
