An intense fire engulfed a vehicle and caused substantial damage to a house in Montreal’s West Island in the early hours of Monday morning.
Authorities were alerted to the incident on Meridian Street via a 911 call at 12:45 a.m. Montreal police (SPVM) rushed to the location, where the Montreal fire department was already on site battling the flames.
The vehicle has been deemed a complete loss, with the residence suffering significant destruction as well. Investigators are set to tow the vehicle for a detailed examination, as possible incendiary materials were discovered nearby.
The case has now been handed over to the Montreal police arson squad for further investigation as they work to determine the cause of the fire.
