Major Traffic Alert: Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel Partially Closed This Weekend, More Disruptions Coming This Week

This upcoming Friday night, Highway 25 in Quebec is set to undergo temporary closure for northbound traffic, as announced by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility earlier this week.

The closure will impact the section between Exit 5, which includes Route 138, Sherbrooke Street, and Yves-Prévost Boulevard, and the entrance from Yves-Prévost Boulevard. Scheduled from 11 p.m. on Friday, October 3 to 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, this temporary shutdown aims to facilitate the reconfiguration of the entrance from Sherbrooke Street and the two northbound lanes of Highway 25 in this vicinity.

Leading up to the highway closure, the entrances from Hochelaga Street and Sherbrooke East Street will be shut down 30 minutes prior.

Despite these temporary disruptions, the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel will continue to remain operational throughout the week of September 29 to October 5. Additionally, several other closures are planned for the week, including:

– Closure of Highway 25 southbound
– Closure of Curatteau Street
– Closure of Souligny Avenue westbound between Honoré-Beaugrand Street and the southbound Highway 25 access ramp from 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 2 to 5 a.m. on Friday, October 3 for necessary paving work.
