Police arrest suspect 3 years after fire at Montreal mansion owned by former Pornhub co-owner

Montreal police made an arrest Tuesday in connection with the 2021 alleged arson at the under-construction home owned by the former co-owner of pornography website Pornhub.

The SPVM’s arson and explosives unit arrested a 39-year-old suspect, who will appear in court Wednesday. The suspect was already incarcerated in the Bordeaux jail awaiting trial for attempted murder.

The luxury Ahuntsic–Cartierville home of Feras Antoon sustained major damages in the April 25, 2021, blaze.

Authorities were alerted of a possible break-in at the home on Jean-Bourdon Avenue around 11:30 p.m. involving two suspects. Officers arrived to find a fire starting, and firefighters were called to the scene. There were no reported injuries.

Damage to the property, itself valued at $15-20 million, was estimated at several million dollars.

Antoon was formerly the CEO of Mindgeek, the parent company of Pornhub. He stepped down in 2022 amid allegations the company published videos that included minors and victims of sexual assault.

Antoon previously accused “religious extremists” of setting fire to the building in the aftermath of those allegations.
