The Montreal Canadiens maintain their status as one of the NHL’s most valuable franchises, with a staggering value of $3.3 billion reported by Sportico. This marks a significant 13% increase from the previous year.

Sportico’s latest valuation list, unveiled recently, reveals an average franchise worth of $2.1 billion. Leading the pack is the Toronto Maple Leafs at $4.25 billion, trailed by the New York Rangers at $3.65 billion. The Canadiens hold onto their position at third with a value of $3.3 billion, followed by the Boston Bruins at $3 billion and the Los Angeles Kings at $2.96 billion.

The top five teams remain unchanged from the previous year, showcasing the consistency of these powerhouse franchises. Moving down the list, the Edmonton Oilers claim the sixth spot with a value of $2.76 billion, while the Vancouver Canucks rank 18th at $1.87 billion. The Calgary Flames and Ottawa Senators secure the 19th and 30th positions respectively, with values of $1.82 billion and $1.34 billion. The Winnipeg Jets close the list at 31st, with a value of $1.33 billion, while the Columbus Blue Jackets trail at $1.3 billion.

Noteworthy shifts in rankings include the two-time reigning Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers, ascending nine places to secure the 17th position with a value of $1.89 billion, marking a remarkable 51% increase. Similarly, the Carolina Hurricanes make a significant leap, climbing 10 spots to claim the 15th position with a value of $1.92 billion.
