In Etobicoke on Wednesday afternoon, a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle, leading to the man being quickly taken to the hospital for treatment.
The incident took place at the intersection of The Westway and Wincott Drive, prompting a response from Toronto police shortly before 1:30 p.m. following reports of a collision.
According to witnesses, a 76-year-old woman was driving west on The Westway when she attempted to make a left turn onto Wincott Drive, colliding with a 69-year-old male pedestrian who was crossing the south side of The Westway at the time.
Emergency services rushed the injured man to a trauma center in critical condition, while the female driver remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
