The New Westminster Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a recent stabbing incident that occurred on Tuesday.
The incident took place in the vicinity of Columbia Street near 6th Street at approximately 1 a.m., where officers responded to find a man who had sustained multiple stab wounds. Fortunately, the victim was promptly transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Despite their efforts, law enforcement was unable to locate any suspects initially. However, following thorough investigations, including witness interviews and the review of CCTV footage, the police have now released a description of the suspect. The individual is identified as having shoulder-length black hair and was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, black shoes, a black shoulder bag, and over-ear headphones.
Sgt. Andrew Leaver emphasized the importance of community cooperation, urging anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses relevant information to step forward and provide assistance promptly.
