Northbound lanes moving again after stall on Alex Fraser Bridge

A breakdown on the Alex Fraser Bridge caused major delays in the northbound lanes leading to New Westminster during the early hours of Thursday.

The incident resulted in a blockage of the middle three lanes at the bridge’s entry point, prompting crews to swiftly clear the affected vehicles.

According to updates from callers to 1130 NewsRadio, the congestion on the bridge eased by approximately 8:20 a.m.

Despite the improvement, traffic remains slow-moving, stretching back to Highway 10 near the Surrey/Delta boundary.

For a smoother journey, motorists are advised to consider using Highway 99 and the George Massey Tunnel as alternate routes to circumvent the heaviest traffic delays.
