“Ontario Man Found Guilty of Manslaughter in Tragic 2022 Surrey Shooting Incident”

A man from Ontario has been found guilty in connection with a shooting that resulted in the death of a man and injury of a woman over three years ago in Surrey, British Columbia.

The incident took place on February 8, 2022, when Surrey RCMP responded to reports of a shooting in the vicinity of 168th Street and 104th Avenue. Upon arrival, authorities discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.

The shooting is believed to have occurred a short distance away on 170A Street near 102nd Avenue, in close proximity to an elementary school. Sadly, 24-year-old Juvraj Jabal succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital, while the 20-year-old woman survived the ordeal.

BC homicide investigators have revealed that Yusuf Kontos was apprehended in Richmond Hill, Ontario, in January of the preceding year and subsequently found guilty of manslaughter in the B.C. Supreme Court the following month. Kontos has also been convicted of aggravated assault for the attack on the surviving victim, resulting in a sentence of 12 years for manslaughter and eight years for the assault conviction.
