A tragic incident unfolded in Kamloops, British Columbia, as a transit driver lost their life in a collision between their bus and a fuel truck.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the authorities were alerted to the accident on Wednesday in the vicinity of the 900 block of Ord Road.
BC Transit has officially announced the driver of the bus as the victim of the collision.
Notably, the bus was not in service during the time of the accident, and fortunately, there were no passengers on board.
Both the police and BC Transit have initiated thorough investigations to determine the cause of the crash. Transdev Canada, Transit’s contracted operator, will also be involved in this examination.
In a plea for assistance, law enforcement encourages anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward and aid the ongoing investigation.
