On a bustling Saturday in downtown Toronto, excited baseball enthusiasts gathered in anticipation of snagging coveted tickets to cheer on the Blue Jays in the postseason playoffs.
Earlier in the week, Rogers, the proud owner of the Blue Jays, unveiled an exciting plan to distribute 250 pairs of tickets for each game of the American League Divisional Series. The tickets would be given on a first-come, first-served basis at various locations within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) for every home game.
To keep fans on their toes, the exact location for ticket distribution would be revealed at 8:30 a.m. on the morning of each game via Rogers’ Instagram and Facebook platforms. For those unable to make it to the location, there was still hope – by following and commenting on the Instagram post by 10 a.m., fans stood a chance to win one of the 10 pairs of tickets allocated for that day’s game.
Among the eager crowd was a father who arrived at the Rogers store with his young son, having woken up at 6:00 a.m. to ensure they secured their tickets on time.
“We raced down here as soon as we got wind of the location,” he shared with CityNews. “Everyone’s feeling the rush today.”
Expressing their enthusiasm, another fan waiting in line remarked, “This is a fantastic opportunity to show our support for the team, and we’re thrilled to be part of it.”
The much-anticipated faceoff between the Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Yankees at Rogers Centre was set for Saturday, with the second game scheduled for Sunday. Should the series extend to a fifth game, it would be held on the following Friday.
Important to note, all tickets are non-transferable, ensuring that only the lucky winners can bask in the thrill of watching the game live.
It’s worth mentioning that Rogers, the parent company of CityNews, is at the helm of this exciting ticket giveaway event.
