“Tragic End in Plateau Bar: Murder-Suicide Claims Lives of Two Men”

Two Men Found Dead in Montreal Bar in Tragic Incident

Tragedy struck a bar in Montreal’s Le-Plateau-Mont-Royal neighborhood, where two men lost their lives in a shocking incident that is believed to be a murder-suicide.

Late on Friday night, multiple 911 calls reported gunfire at the bar on Mont-Royal Ave. near Laval Ave., prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Constable Véronique Dubuc, a spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM), confirmed that investigators are still at the scene working to uncover the precise details surrounding the tragic event. She stressed that, at this time, there is no indication of any connection to organized crime.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was fatally shot by a man in his 30s who then took his own life. The motive behind this heartbreaking incident remains unknown.

Upon arrival, police found customers fleeing the bar and discovered the two men inside, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, both men were pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by another SPVM spokesperson, Manuel Couture, who mentioned the swift establishment of a security perimeter around the crime scene.

Major crimes investigators from the SPVM are actively interviewing witnesses and analyzing surveillance footage in an effort to piece together the sequence of events.

Initially treated as two suspicious deaths, the SPVM investigation is now honing in on a tragic case of homicide followed by suicide.
