Toronto Police Investigating After Cyclist and Pedestrian Struck by Suspected Impaired Driver
Toronto authorities are currently investigating a concerning incident in the Harbourfront neighborhood after a cyclist and a pedestrian were hit by a driver suspected of being impaired.
The collision occurred early Sunday morning near the intersection of Lower Spadina Avenue and Queens Quay West. Emergency services responded swiftly following the incident, with one victim, a woman in her 50s, being transported to a nearby hospital with serious yet non-life-threatening injuries. The second victim received medical evaluation at the scene.
The driver, who was suspected to be driving under the influence, was apprehended by law enforcement at the crash site. Further information regarding the driver has not been disclosed at this time.
As part of the ongoing investigation, Lower Spadina Avenue has been temporarily closed in both directions between Lakeshore Boulevard and Queens Quay.
