A young man in his 20s tragically lost his life in a devastating accident that took place on Saturday on Highway 50 near Mirabel in the scenic Laurentians region, just northwest of Montreal.
According to Quebec provincial police, the fatal collision occurred around 4:45 p.m. when a driver attempting to pass another vehicle on the left side collided with a heavy goods truck travelling in the opposite direction.
Tragically, the young man was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders, while two others involved in the crash sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The collision involved a total of three vehicles, including two cars and the heavy truck. Authorities also noted a spill at the site, though the specifics of the material were not disclosed.
Investigative teams were present at the scene to gather information and assess the details of the incident on Saturday.
