“Gunfire Erupts at Popular Indian Restaurant Chain Locations in Maple Ridge and Surrey”

A popular restaurant chain in the Lower Mainland faced a second shooting incident within just over a week.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) received reports of gunshots fired at a Ustaad G76 Indian restaurant on King George Boulevard near 156 Street at around 2:20 a.m.

Upon reaching the scene, SPS officers confirmed that the building’s exterior had been damaged by gunfire. Thankfully, the restaurant was closed at the time, with no staff present, and no injuries were reported.

This recent incident comes after another Ustaad G76 location was targeted by gunfire on Sept. 27. The Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to the previous shooting at the restaurant on Lougheed Highway near 218 Street in Maple Ridge around 3 a.m.

Frontline officers conducted thorough patrols and discovered evidence of multiple gunshots fired at the business, but again, there were no injuries.

Investigators are currently on-site in Surrey, continuing their examination of the second shooting incident.
