On Monday, a body was discovered along the shore of the Saint Lawrence River in L’Ange-Gardien, located east of Quebec City.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson, Hugues Beaulieu, stated that police officers responded to a call near Sainte-Anne Blvd. around 6 p.m. when a passerby came across the body.
Authorities quickly confirmed the person’s passing.
Beaulieu mentioned that an investigation is currently in progress to establish the individual’s identity to the satisfaction of the coroner, as well as to determine the cause and circumstances of death, which remain uncertain.
The spokesperson was unable to confirm whether the deceased person was male or female.
