Today in Vancouver, the highly anticipated Top 25 Most Wanted list by the Bolo Program, a national initiative focusing on Canada’s most wanted fugitives, is set to be revealed.
The unveiling is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET (10:30 a.m. Pacific) and will feature notable speakers, including Toronto Police Service Chief Superintendent Joe Matthews, Bolo Program Executive Director Max Langlois, and senior police officials from various regions across the country.
Since its launch in 2018, the Bolo Program has emerged as a crucial tool for law enforcement, utilizing social media campaigns, digital billboards, and community involvement to aid in the apprehension of suspects wanted for violent offenses.
The program’s Top 25 lists have played a significant role in the capture of several high-profile fugitives in recent years. Notable individuals, such as Rabih Alkhalil, a convicted gangster wanted for murder, and Dave Turmel, a fugitive sought for attempted murder, have been successfully arrested with the help of information provided through the program.
Bolo emphasizes the importance of citizen tips in contributing directly to apprehensions. Currently, the program’s website lists multiple fugitives still at large nationwide, including individuals wanted for murder and attempted murder.
Rewards ranging from $50,000 to $250,000 are offered for information leading to the capture of these fugitives.
