Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the northern part of the city on Wednesday morning following a cherry picker blaze that left two individuals stranded in the bucket.
Toronto authorities reported that the dramatic episode unfolded shortly before 11 a.m. at the intersection of Haynes Avenue and Assiniboine Road, close to Finch Avenue West and Sentinel Road.
Rescuers managed to extract both men, thought to be in their thirties, from the situation and promptly transported them to a nearby hospital. One of the men sustained serious injuries, while the other had injuries that were not life-threatening.
The cause of the fire remains a mystery.
