“Carjacking Crisis: Duo Nabbed After Spree Shocks Mississauga”

Peel Regional Police have successfully apprehended and charged two individuals linked to a series of violent carjackings in Mississauga.

The string of carjackings spanned over a week, starting in late September when a woman parked her 2011 Mitsubishi at a plaza near Erin Mills Parkway and Folkway Drive. As she exited her vehicle, two suspects brandishing knives approached her. They violently assaulted her, throwing her to the ground and punching her in the face, before absconding with her car.

Two similar incidents occurred on Oct. 2 in the same vicinity. In the first incident, a man returning to his 2025 Hyundai Tucson was confronted by two suspects armed with scissors, attempting to steal his keys. Despite their efforts, the victim managed to lock himself inside his vehicle. Shortly afterward, the suspects targeted another victim returning to his 2025 Nissan Sentra, demanding his car keys. A scuffle ensued, resulting in the victim being thrown to the ground and kicked. However, the suspects failed to obtain the keys and fled on foot.

Fortunately, all victims sustained only minor injuries in these distressing events. Investigators were able to track down and arrest both suspects in the backyard of a nearby residence.

A 16-year-old suspect faced charges including robbery, wearing a disguise while committing an indictable offence, and failure to comply with sentence or disposition. Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the minor’s identity remains protected. The second suspect, identified as 18-year-old Raheem McNish from Brampton, was charged with multiple counts related to the carjackings.

Both individuals were held for a bail hearing as the investigation continues.
