Authorities in North Vancouver are currently probing vandalism incidents, including two suspected arsons, that occurred at a local park this week.
The North Vancouver RCMP have been informed of three separate incidents at Delbrook Park washrooms, which are believed to have occurred between Monday and Tuesday.
Law enforcement officials suspect that a fire was deliberately set inside a garbage bin within one of the washrooms around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, resulting in damage to the bin and the floor.
According to witnesses, a man in his 30s wearing a black hoodie was seen leaving the area.
The following day, another suspected arson incident was reported.
An RCMP statement released on Thursday indicated that it is alleged that a roll of toilet paper was ignited inside one of the washrooms.
Additionally, wet balls of toilet paper were discovered thrown at the walls and ceiling of another washroom.
Investigators believe the latter two incidents took place between 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Cpl. Mansoor Sahak expressed concern, stating, “These reckless acts of vandalism could potentially result in significant property damage and financial loss.”
