A tragic incident unfolded over the Thanksgiving long weekend as a young woman lost her life in a multi-vehicle collision on Friday evening in Scott, Beauce.
Sergeant Maryté Bolduc, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, confirmed the unfortunate passing of a 24-year-old female driver in the accident. The collision involved five vehicles and took place on Highway 73, where a van traveling northbound collided head-on with the victim’s vehicle.
In addition to the fatality, three other individuals, including two men and a child, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Sergeant Bolduc noted that their injuries were minor.
The collision occurred within a construction zone, prompting the closure of Highway 73 for the investigation and reconstruction process. The road was reopened early Saturday morning after the scene was analyzed by Sûreté du Québec authorities.
As of now, the cause of the pile-up remains unknown, and the SQ’s investigation is ongoing.
