Critical Shooting in Surrey Leaves Woman Fighting for Her Life Overnight

An investigation is underway by the Surrey Police Service following a shooting incident that left a woman critically injured in the early hours of Sunday.

The incident unfolded when police were alerted to possible gunfire at a residence on 103A Avenue near Old Yale Road around 2:30 a.m. Responding swiftly, officers found an adult female inside the home who had sustained a gunshot wound. BCEHS paramedics provided immediate medical attention before she was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton stated, “She was transported to the hospital, where she remains in critical condition.”

The Major Crime Section of SPS is actively looking into the matter to ascertain any potential connections to extortion.

Houghton added, “SPS will be collaborating closely with our partner agencies to explore any links to other ongoing investigations.”
