Authorities in Durham region apprehended a group of five teenagers believed to be involved in an armed robbery that occurred in Oshawa last month.
The incident unfolded on Sept. 5 when law enforcement responded to a call near William Lott Drive and Greenhill Avenue regarding a person brandishing a firearm.
Upon arrival, police met with a victim who recounted being attacked by a group of youths while riding his bicycle. According to investigators, one of the suspects aimed a gun at the victim during the altercation. The perpetrators then proceeded to rob the victim before fleeing the scene.
Following an extensive investigation, all suspects, including a 12-year-old girl, two 13-year-old girls, a 13-year-old boy, and two 15-year-old boys, were taken into custody. The teenagers, all residents of Oshawa, face charges of robbery with an offensive weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon.
The apprehended individuals were scheduled for bail hearings.
