“Yaletown Stabbings: Suspect Now in Custody, Vancouver Police Confirm”

Vancouver Police have apprehended a suspect in connection with a string of violent incidents that shook the Yaletown neighborhood on Friday morning.

The authorities were alerted to the scene following reports of multiple individuals being attacked near David Lam Park’s seawall at approximately 7:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered three victims with minor stab wounds. These individuals were promptly transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries that were not deemed life-threatening.

Subsequent to the initial incident, four more individuals have reported being assaulted, bringing the total count of victims to seven. The victims, comprising five men and two women aged between 23 and 59, included another stabbing victim, someone who was physically assaulted, and two individuals who fortunately escaped unharmed.

Following an update on Monday afternoon, the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) confirmed the apprehension of a 35-year-old suspect in connection with the attacks.

Although specific details are scarce, the police have stated that the suspect is currently in custody.

Over the weekend, the VPD released images of the suspect in question, seeking assistance from the public in identifying her.

Eyewitness accounts describe the suspect as a woman in her late 20s or early 30s, standing between 5’3″ and 5’7″ with a slender physique and long, dark hair.

A witness named Mike Conway recounted his encounter with the suspect, who brandished a knife as he walked along the seawall around 7:30 a.m.

“She just came at me and swiped at me, and I dodged out of the way and scurried off as fast as I could,” Conway recalled. “She swung a knife, and I moved out of the way. Then I ran about 10 paces, and she went the other way.”
