Amidst a recent alarming incident in Thunder Bay, local authorities worked hand-in-hand with international law enforcement agencies to thwart a potentially devastating school attack allegedly planned by a 13-year-old teen. The investigation was initiated on October 6 when the teenager was suspected of engaging in online conversations with an individual from another country to conspire and plan an attack.
With collaborative efforts from the FBI, Interpol, and the RCMP, Thunder Bay police conducted search warrants on October 14 at two local locations. The 13-year-old has been formally charged with conspiracy to commit murder and counselling to commit an offense that was not carried out.
The teen has already appeared in court and is currently being held in custody as the legal process unfolds.
