“Canada’s Top Fugitive Captured by Transit Police in Dramatic Takedown”

Pierry Philogène, who was recently named one of Canada’s 25 Most Wanted by the Be on the Lookout Program, has been apprehended by the Metro Vancouver Transit Police (MVTP) after evading authorities since late 2021. Philogène was wanted in connection with an alleged homicide in Montreal, with a search warrant issued by the Montreal Police Service.

The MVTP successfully tracked down Philogène on Tuesday night with the help of their Crime Suppression Team members. An arrest was made after a brief foot chase, aided by the Vancouver Police, and Philogène is now in custody, as confirmed by the MVTP.

During a search following the arrest, it was discovered that Philogène was carrying a fake ID. The BC Prosecution Service has approved charges of obstruction of a peace officer and possession of identity documents without lawful excuse against him.

The Montreal Police Service has accused Philogène of the premeditated murder of Charles-Olivier Boucher Savard on December 22, 2021. Constable Amanda Steed expressed pride in the Crime Suppression Team’s work in removing a fugitive from the streets, emphasizing the transit police’s dedication to the safety of both transit users and the broader community.
