“Capture on the Run: Vancouver Transit Police Nab Top Fugitive on Canada’s Most Wanted List”

The Metro Vancouver Transit Police has successfully apprehended Pierry Philogène, a notorious fugitive who was recently listed as one of Canada’s 25 Most Wanted by the national Be on the Lookout Program (Bolo).

Philogène had managed to evade authorities since late 2021, when the Montreal Police Service issued a search warrant in connection with a suspected homicide in Montreal.

After a determined effort by the MVTP’s Crime Suppression Team, Philogène was finally captured on Tuesday night, with the assistance of the Vancouver Police, following a brief foot pursuit. He is currently in custody.

During a search conducted post-arrest, it was discovered that Philogène was in possession of a counterfeit ID, further complicating his legal situation.

The BC Prosecution Service has authorized charges against Philogène for obstruction of a peace officer and possessing identity documents without lawful excuse.

The Montreal Police Service has accused Philogène of the premeditated murder of Charles-Olivier Boucher Savard on December 22, 2021.

Constable Amanda Steed expressed, “Through the proactive efforts of our Crime Suppression Team, we have successfully removed a wanted fugitive from the streets. The Transit Police is dedicated not only to ensuring safety within and around the transit system but also to safeguarding the broader community as a whole.”
