“Montreal Police Launch Major Raid, Execute Six Warrants in Hunt for 2023 Homicide Clues”

Montreal police have carried out six search warrants related to a murder case in Saint-Leonard that occurred in 2023. The victim, a 19-year-old man, was found dead in a car on Nov. 30, marking the 33rd homicide of the year on the island of Montreal.

The incident took place on Place de Fontenelle, near Jean-Talon Street East, where a passer-by discovered the man’s body in the car around 2:15 p.m. The police revealed that the victim had suffered at least one gunshot wound, leading to his immediate death at the scene.

Following a recent public appeal for information near the crime scene, a mobile command post was established, aiding in the progression of the investigation. Subsequently, search warrants were executed at residences in the boroughs of Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles, Saint-Leonard, and Laval.
