“Scarborough Suspect Apprehended for String of Sexual Assaults in Whitby”

Durham law enforcement officials have apprehended a 39-year-old man after probing two separate sexual assault cases in Whitby.

The initial incident took place on the evening of August 17, 2024, around 11:15 p.m. A woman was near Quebec Street in Oshawa when she was approached by a man who offered her a ride. Unfortunately, instead of her intended destination, she was driven to an industrial zone in Whitby where the assault occurred.

On October 14, 2025, the police apprehended the suspect without any trouble.

The accused individual has been identified as 39-year-old Ravi Tirbaney from Scarborough. He is facing two charges of sexual assault and remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

Authorities express worries about the possibility of more victims. A picture of the accused along with his vehicle has been made public.

Individuals with any relevant information are urged to reach out to the investigators.
