An incident involving a 17-year-old driver hitting a pedestrian in Riverdale has led to charges being laid in Toronto. The collision occurred at the intersection of Pape and Lipton avenues late last month, resulting in serious injuries to the 24-year-old pedestrian.
According to reports, the teenage driver was traveling north on Pape Avenue when he ran a red light and collided with the pedestrian who was crossing the street at Lipton. The pedestrian sustained severe injuries in the accident, described as life-threatening.
After weeks of investigation, the 17-year-old voluntarily surrendered to authorities on October 16. He now faces charges for dangerous driving causing bodily harm and leaving the scene of the accident. The driver is set to appear in court on November 26.
