B.C. Government and Key Union Reignite Talks, Eyeing Major Breakthrough in Negotiations

The BC General Employees’ Union is set to resume negotiations with the provincial government in the near future.

In a recent announcement, the union revealed that its bargaining committee has approved engaging in non-binding discussions with the province, facilitated by mediators Vince Ready and Amanda Rogers.

This decision comes after the government’s request for talks on Thursday, following a seven-week province-wide strike involving over 25,000 public service employees, as stated by the BCGEU.

Meanwhile, picketing activities will persist during the mediation process.

Stay tuned for further updates on this ongoing development.
